Thursday 26th May 2022, 6:00pm - 7:30pm
Between Machine and Prey: An Artist Talk with Kris Verdonck and Kristof van Baarle was part of the ‘Future Scenarios: Performance, Climate, Ecology’ series presented by the University of Melbourne School of Culture and Communication.
In this conversation, Belgian theatre maker Kris Verdonck and dramaturg Kristof van Baarle discussed how to make art in times of seemingly insurmountable crises. They asked: how best to give form to an era governed by technology, to a world entering a period of fundamental ecological and political instability and catastrophes?
This conversation was part of a research visit to Australia by Kris Verdonck and Kristof van Baarle in preparation for a music theatre performance on the life and work of Australian ecofeminist philosopher Val Plumwood, titled PREY.
CLIMARTE was delighted to host this special event. For further information please visit The University of Melbourne School of Culture and Communication’s event listing here.
