Poster Project III: A Call To Art

28 February - 28 March 2022

Given their unique capacities to shift cultural boundaries, what role can artists play in mobilising the public to demand immediate effective climate action?

In December 2021, following the intense COP26 climate negotiations in Glasgow, CLIMARTE launched a public call out for A0 poster size artworks to address the causes and solutions to the climate crisis.

As you can see from all of the artworks featured below, the response was phenomenal.

Selected as a curated collection to reflect a diversity of approaches and styles, the following ten artworks will be displayed throughout the City of Melbourne for a month from Monday 28 February. This collection was launched at the WHY A CALL TO ART? Forum at The Capitol on Saturday 26 February as part of the National Sustainable Living Festival.

We are proud to feature here all of the  A CALL TO ART submissions to which artists have granted permission.

A CALL TO ART and its associated Forum Why A Call to Art? were made possible through a City of Melbourne Arts and Creative Investment Partnerships project grant for 2021.

You can read the brief that all artists were provided with here.

We gratefully acknowledge all participating artists
